Professional Development Days For

Tumbler Ridge Elementary School

Recognizing the educational importance of the recent discoveries of fossil dinosaur bones and tracks in the region, Tumbler Ridge Elementary School teachers organized two professional development days with a palaeontology theme. The teachers were given talks on the different groups of dinosaurs, geological time and the history of palaeontological finds in Tumbler Ridge.

The participants were given a tour of the P.R.P.R.C. and were also given a demonstration of a footprint casting exercise that could be taught to their students. The wonderful educational opportunities provided by the region's fossil finds are very much supported by the P.R.P.R.C.

Rich McCrea gives a group of teachers a demonstration of casting techniques on modern bird footprints at Tumbler Ridge Elementary School.
