Tracks and Trackways

The P.R.P.R.C. houses a collection of vertebrate and invertebrate trace fossils (tracks, trails, burrows) which are also studied to determine the behaviour, biology, an habitat of extinct animals. Several geological formations in western Canada have vertebrate footprints, but no skeletal remains. The study of tracks can help to fill in the gaps left by an incomplete skeletal record.
